In God is Watching, iconic avant-garde performance artist David Hoyle meditates on his first experience of the “forbidden” world of the gay bar and the intoxicating support and solidarity of the safe-space found therein. Edited by Jamie O’Donnell and directed by Matt Lambert at Pretty Bird as part of a series of six films commissioned by Channel 4 and Random Acts for Tate Britain’s exhibition, Queer British Art 1861-1967.
