Studio Swine’s new project, developed for retailer COS at Salone Del Mobile, Milan, is captured at work in this short film directed by Juriaan Booij and edited by Cut+Run’s Jamie O’Donnell. The installation, entitled “New Spring,” is designed to evoke Japan’s famous Cherry Blossom festival and a sense of the changing seasons. Drawing visual inspiration from Milan’s architectural heritage – public fountains and Murano chandeliers – the tree-like installation is constructed from recycled aluminium and sheds misty bubbles like falling leaves; a strange, sublime and altogether otherworldly process that really must be seen to be believed. Post-production was handled at Jogger Studios London, with grading by Yoomin Lee.
