This retro-futuristic marvel of a video for Elton John’s beloved “Bennie and the Jets” was one of the winning entries to The Cut’s competition, which offered young filmmakers the chance to conceive and create music videos for three of Elton’s legendary songs. Directed by Jack Whiteley at Rattling Stick and co-directed by Laura Brownhill, the film draws on the song’s lyrics and themes to produce an aesthetic rooted in the sci-fi minimalism of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, along with synchronised choreography and lighting that nods to classic Hollywood. We were delighted to play a part in the development of this wonderful project, which will live on as the first official promo for “Bennie and the Jets.”
